Planning a city break? Looking to view the sites in one of the greatest cities on Earth? If you’re thinking about a trip to London and you can’t bear to leave your pup with a dog sitter (let’s face it, a caged kennel isn’t even an option), then look no further.
Mayfair and St James
Rumour has it that Francos was the first Italian to open in London. Whether this is true or not, we love to spend time whiling away an afternoon reading the paper with a strong espresso or a cheeky glass of vino. The food is delicious, simple Italian cuisine and well behaved dogs are welcome.
Francos – 61 Jermyn Street, London, SW1Y 6LX
A fixture for over forty years, Maggie Jones is a romantic little hideaway tucked down a side street in the heart of bustling Kensington. The menu focuses on traditional British fare; we highly recommend the Grilled rack of English lamb with Garlic and Rosemary. The staff are super dog friendly and well behaved dogs are welcome in the restaurant.
Maggie Jones – 6 Old Court Place, Kensington, London, W8 4PL
The Constitution is a fine English pub. Erected in the mid 1800s, experiencing a true Olde English pub is on top of many to-do lists when visiting the capital. Featuring a full menu and bar snacks such as jarred cockles and mussels; this, coupled with their large selection of real ales you’ll find it hard going thirsty here!
The Constitution – 42 Churton Street, London, SW1V 2LP
The Greyhound is the place to visit in North London with your dog. The staff are super welcoming to dogs in all areas of the pub and the food is delicious. Part of the Youngs group of breweries, you’ll be safe in the knowledge that this is going to be packed full of excellent ales and bitters.
The Greyhound, Church End, Hendon, London, NW4 4JT
Bloomsbury and Holborn
Close to the British Museum, you can find a sanctuary amongst the crowded shopping area of Oxford Street in The Montague on the Gardens, where your dog will be treated like royalty. Well behaved dogs are allowed in the restaurant and even in the hotel’s bar. We saw a lovely member of staff bringing a leftover plate of chicken over to one very lucky pooch!
The Montague on the Gardens, 15 Montague Street, London WC1B 5BJ
