Fun facts: Did you know that all modern Collies owe their heritage in both looks and expected behaviour and prowess as sheepdogs to a dog called Old Hemp? The Grandfather of Collies competed in sheepdog trials way back in 1873, impressing farmers with his ability to herd the cattle safely – without barking! Border Collies continue to be a stalwart of farms everywhere.
