This week the dog world has produced some wonderful stories, from wedding crashers to dramatic rescues – we’ve got it all in this week’s Scoop.
Ikea launches range for pooches
Possibly the biggest story in the dog world this week was the revelation that a popular Swedish flat-pack purveyor has launched a pet range. Yes, Ikea now sells furniture for dogs. Stylish, home-comfort-loving pooches, woof for joy!
The range includes blankets, beds, cushions, leads, toys and more! Unfortunately, it looks like these doggy home decor delights are only available in the USA for now. European pups will have to wait a little longer as the range won’t hit UK stores until some time in 2018.
“I’m glad I crashed the wedding”
No one wants an unwelcome guest at their wedding. Unless the wedding crasher in question is a completely adorable stray pooch, that is.
For one Brazilian couple who recently tied the knot in São Paulo, little did they know that their wedding day would change their lives in more ways than one.
Midway through the ceremony a stray dog entered (he’d previously been shooed away by the guests). Clearly exhausted and wet from the bad weather outside, the street dog lay down for a nap on the bride’s veil. The dog-loving bride and groom Matheus and Marília were delighted and allowed the dog to stick around for the rest of their special day.
After their wedding day, Matheus and Marília hunted high and low for the dog, eventually locating him after more than a week of searching. Here’s the best bit – they adopted their wedding crashing doggy, named him Snoop, so their family has very quickly grown from two to three. Now that’s what you call a wedding favour!
An epic rescue for one very lucky pooch!
After strong winds swept a paddling doggy out to sea off the North East coast of Scotland, the endangered dog was luckily rescued by the coastguard. Fortunately, the dog was spotted by a coastguard helicopter and quickly picked up by a boat which happened to be in the same area. The cold and soggy doggy was reunited with his family and is recovering well.
Watch the amazing moment the pooch was rescued in the video above.
