At nine hours and thirteen minutes in the office daily, we’re working longer hours than ever before. Add on an average commute of an hour (although 1.8 million Britons commuted for three hours or more last year), and you soon realise that you spend more time with your coworkers than you do at home.
In addition to stressful commutes and long working hours, the other thing we all have in common is the annoying coworker. You know the one. There’s *always* someone at work with their annoyances; ranging from the small, to full-blown mental breakdown moments. It’s okay though – you’re not alone. We took to the DogBuddy offices to see if the dogs are actually better behaved than some coworkers. Can you relate to any of these?
1. Coffee breath
There’s always a coffee-guzzler who insists on talking to you up-close and personal. It also appears that they’ve never heard of chewing gum either. Grim.
2. The food thief
Ever spent the morning commute looking forward to getting in and having the chewy, buttery bagel you left in the fridge, only to arrive and find it’s not there? Maybe it was this little guy…
3. Messy desk
Screwed up paper, used tissues from last Winter, pens covered in sticky residue, magazines, last Thursday’s cereal bowl and empty notepads sprawled across the desk. I mean, why is this starting to migrate on to my desk? You have a bin under yours – use it!
4. The sly screen-watcher
These guys look at your screen constantly, yet, even though you’re doing your work you can’t help but feel guilty about… doing work! Question why they’re looking at your computer so much – they should be focussing their attention on their own work, surely.
5. Interrupting conversations
It doesn’t matter whether you’re in a full-on formal meeting or having an informal chat, this coworker will always interrupt your discussions. They *love* the sound of their own voice and think everyone should hear their opinion (and take it on board).
Does your coworker do something else that’s annoying? Share it in the comments.
