In this week’s Scoop: meet the luckiest dog ever, the most adorable tour guide ever and discover that modern art is good for dogs.
That’s one rally lucky dog
Arguably the luckiest pooch in the world, one dog had an incredibly fortunate escape at a rally in Santa Cruz in Bolivia this week. The dog had somehow managed to get on the race track, with a race driver right behind him. Watch the full footage here. When he hears the car, he begins to run. Then, the unexpected happens. The driver hits a small incline in the track – just enough for the car to fly straight over the dog, leaving the pooch, and the car, completely unscathed.
With rally car drivers reaching top speeds of 100mph, this dog has got to be the luckiest pooch alive!
Yorkie is the cutest tour guide – catch the first episode here!
We’ve been waiting in anticipation ever since we first spotted Yorkie’s ad for his very own YouTube tourism show. For those who need catching up, Yorkie is a Yorkshire Terrier tour guide who even has his own utterly adorable Barbour Jacket, and he’s giving a series of tours of ‘God’s own country’. If it doesn’t make you fancy a trip t’up North, we don’t know what will…
Cultured canines
Modern art isn’t the first thing that springs to mind when you think of activities for dogs. Chasing squirrels, chasing cats, chasing their own tails… sure. But a group of artist recently proved that dogs are culture vultures, too, by hosting the world’s first ever contemporary art exhibition for dogs.
Sadly, it was a rather exclusive event only lasting two days. Exhibits included Dinnertime Dreams, a gigantic dog bowl filled with play-balls, and a particularly fun piece dubbed Cruising Canines that allowed pups to simulate the experience of sticking their heads out a moving car. Because as we know, the best art imitates life.
