Yogi and his owner Kiri moved to London after two years of life together in Kiri’s native New York. You might’ve spotted Yogi on our Instagram – he’s a been a regular at DogBuddy HQ for Day Care, as well as being the lucky guest dog. We caught up with Kiri to discover what difference booking dog care for Yogi with DogBuddy has made.
Name: Yogi
Breed: Karelian Bear Dog
Favourite treat: cheese
Best trick: high fives
Favourite place to sleep: under our bed in his “cave”
Naughtiest habit: stealing other dogs toys/balls so they’re forced to play with him in the park.
Secret fact: Yogi’s breed is used to hunt and control bear populations in many national parks. Yogi himself is not much of a hunter, but he is named after a cartoon bear.
“We got Yogi when we lived in New York, he was just a month or 2 old and tiny, probably the cutest thing we’d ever seen.
We found DogBuddy online shortly after we got to London and we were spending a lot of time trying to figure out the best day care situation for him. I work remotely now, so thankfully we didn’t need anyone right away, just for a day every once in awhile, and boarding while we’re traveling.”
“I think we’ve officially seen more of Europe than of our own country now. Since we moved here we’ve done a few fun road trips with Yogi to the Cotswolds, Exmoor, Dartmoor, the South Downs and taking him to Wales with us next month. We have also gone on a ton of trips we weren’t able to bring him on – Iceland, Brussels, Amalfi Coast, Berlin, Nice, Monaco, Mykonos, Copenhagen, Prague, Edinburgh, Porto, and Dublin! We’re not sure exactly how long we’ll be here, but we sure are making the most of the location and exploring as much as possible.”
“Our first impression of Anna was that she seemed really great- but that doesn’t matter as much as Yogis impression of her!
“He makes his feelings quite obvious every time we drop him off and he goes nuts with excitement, jumping up to give her kisses. Yogi has also stayed with Matt a bunch of times, and they’ve even shared him a few times on longer trips away.” – Kiri, Yogi’s mum and happy DogBuddy customer.
Anna lives on the other side of town from us, so we always pick up/drop off from her office which is only a fifteen-minute walk to our flat, or if Matt has him he’s been able to stop off at our place on his walk to work. Either way they’ve always been very helpful in figuring out a convenient solution.”
“Being in a new city and trying to figure out who to trust our pup with can be a bit stressful, so it’s great to be able to go on DogBuddy and see all the great reviews of someone before trusting them with your dog. We also love the new Walkies feature where you can see how far they’ve walked. Yogi’s a very high energy guy, so it’s great to know he’s getting enough exercise.” – Kiri, Yogi’s mum and happy DogBuddy customer
“Leaving Yogi behind is always the only downside of our trips away – but DogBuddy makes it a million times easier because we know he will be safe and having fun.”
