Guide dog saves life of his owner and grandson
Labrador-cross Iain started barking and alerting his owner, Paul Whiting, to toxins leaking from a faulty fridge. Mr. Whiting comments:
“If it hadn’t been for him it would have been terrible… He really is my hero, as well as my best friend, and we will always be eternally grateful to him.”
Heroic guide dog jumps in front of a bus
Eight year old Retriever, Figo, hurled himself in front of an oncoming school bus to save his owner, Audrey Stone from getting hit. The poor pup took the full force of the bus and even crawled over to his owner, refusing to leave her side until the paramedics arrived.
Trainee guide dog saves choking owner
Seventeen month old German Shepherd /Retriever crossbreed Nell saved her owner, Lesley Hailwood from choking on a chocolate on New Year’s Eve. When Nell realised her trainer was in danger, she leapt on to the sofa and jumped on Lesley’s chest – dislodging the chocolate.
Guide dog saves baby’s life
Black Labrador Jet pushed her owner’s pram out of the way of an out-of-control car. His owner, Jessica was pushed over in the accident so couldn’t reach her baby in time. Luckily, clever Jet managed to save her baby by pushing his pram out of the way.
Courageous guide dog saves owner from fire
Golden Labrador Yolanda saved her owner, Maria Colon, by using a specially modified phone to dial emergency services. The phone call was prompted by Maria shouting the code word “Danger” to her pup when she smelt smoke. This wasn’t the first time Yolanda dialled emergency services, however. Maria fell down a flight of stairs at home and lost consciousness the year before, only to have Yolanda save her once again. Maria comments about Yolanda:
“I’m her Mommy, and she loves me too much”
