Get the Scoop! We’ve rounded up the best of the week’s doggy news and it’s been a good one – an adorable international adoption story, a royal dog sitter, and a London bus tour for dogs… get your dog news pupdate here.
All (dogs) aboard!
Ever wished you could take your pooch sightseeing in the glitzy UK capital London? Well, thanks to pet insurance company More Th>n, your dream is now a reality.
A special bus tour of London for dogs has launched, and canine travellers can expect to see all the sights of the historic city whilst learning about all things doggy in London. For example, the bus tour passes Barkingham Palace, where the Corgis live with a lady all the humans call Queen (apparently the Corgis call her ‘mum’), and the Houses of Parliament, where doggy legislation is discussed. The bus stops off at dog-friendly places to grab a bone to gnaw on, too.

Check out those yoga pants. Ahem! Cute dog, we meant cute dog.
This adoption video is guaranteed to bring a smile to your face, and is likely to provoke some other reactions, too. (Girls and boys, apparently this handsome chap is already engaged – sorry!) Finlay and Amoleh met whilst Finlay was travelling in Sri Lanka. Amoleh was a stray with a playful streak; he liked hanging around with Finlay whilst he was doing his daily yoga routine. That’s when Finlay, a pro yoga instructor, fell head over heels for Amoleh. And who can blame him?
Now the pair are living together in Dundee and they’re still doing yoga together – have you ever seen such a beautiful friendship?!
“Is one a dog-sitter?”
Certainly one of our favourite pieces of news this week was discovering that the Queen is not only part-time dog-sitter on top of her state duties, but she’s also considering adopting two dogs into the royal household.
Over the last couple of years the Queen has been lending a hand former courtier and royal employee with a spot of dog sitting. A couple with strong ties to the Monarch, Bill and Nancy Fenwick were Royal Gamekeeper and the Queen’s Corgi trainer respectively. Nancy sadly died a few years ago, and Bill’s two dogs, a Corgi and a Bichon Frise have been getting the royal treatment while Queen Elizabeth II takes them for a weekly walk to lend Bill a hand.
Bill sadly passed away in the last couple of weeks and apparently the Queen is now considering giving the two pups a new home at Buckingham Palace. Or should that be Barkingham Palace?
