Aard-bark and his canine companions
In the animal kingdom there are plenty of unusual friendships that have come about. Take Babe the pig – his best friend is a spider named Charlotte, in The Jungle Book Bagheera and Baloo are from different animal families, one is a panther and the other is a bear, but that doesn’t get in the way of their famous friendship.
Well this animal friendship is right up there with Babe and Bagheera – except it’s from real life. Dr De Jager is a vet living and practicing in Namibia. She’s already adopted a pair of rescue dogs, Spokie and Zarah, who have been joined by their new, er, brother – ET the aardvark.
Little ET is one luckily aardvark – he narrowly avoided being hit by a car before being brought to the vets, where De decided to adopt him. She even takes him for a daily walk – just like his new doggy siblings!

The tall tail of Bella and Hank
This news story warmed our heart, made us chuckle and left us bemused all in equal measure. Adriana is a proud owner of Hank and Bella. Bella’s the little scrappy one, she’s two years old and has figured out a smart solution to overcome her size setbacks. Bella uses her big brother Hank as a step ladder and a mode of transport around the house. Hank doesn’t seem to mind, however; the pair are often found snuggled up together – apparently Hank’s also sometimes used as Bella’s pillow.
What’s got us curious is the Pug in the background… what’s his take on the story – does he get left out of this famous duo’s hijinks? He certainly looks grumpy about something!
