Ideas for a Great Dog Birthday Party
Our pups may not realise what birthday parties really mean, nevertheless, they sure can enjoy a fun-filled day! Throwing a dog birthday party is the perfect excuse to spend the day being a crazy dog lady (or crazy dog guy) and stock up on pawesome pictures.
Not sure what you can do to make your dog’s birthday extra special? No worries! We’ve got our favourite fun ideas:
Invite your pup’s BESTEST friends over
Make sure your dog birthday party takes place in a garden or at your favourite dog park so that your four-legged friends have room to run around. Why not invite your dog’s best friends all at the same time for a great surprise? Coordinate with the owners first though, to make sure everyone gets along fine.
Bake a doggie cake or special treats
Individual treats are usually easier to share between dogs, and are also less messy! Figure out what your pup’s favourite foods are and make them into delicious and colourful birthday treats. Important – always make sure that all ingredients are safe for dogs! Make the day memorable with fun-filled games
Go crazy with the games! Never mind playing fetch or frisbee; why not set up a ball pit in your living room, organise a doggie treasure hunt by hiding treats and toys around the garden, or even get the dogs a kiddie pool to splash around in. If you can’t do something at home, you can always take the pups to a dog friendly beach or go on an epic hike.
Put on a show for your dog-loving friends
Now’s the time to show off all the new tricks you taught your dog recently! Why not organise an obedience contest or a doggie costume contest (for pictures only, don’t leave your pooch in it all day) with the birthday guests? The dogs will have a blast, and the humans too! There’s no reason why you can’t enjoy this special day too.
Don’t forget the presents
Now’s the time to renew your pup’s toy stock! Whether you get new toys, replace their old chewed-up ones, make more treats; your dog will be delighted! If you’re feeling crafty and want to save some money, you can also go ahead and make your own DIY dog toys.
