A dog friendly swimming pool has opened in the Sichuan province in South-West China. It’s proving popular with dogs trying to keep cool in the summer heat, and it’s got a unique selling point – owners can pop on their swimming clogs and jump in with their dogs, too.
The ingenious owners of the pool for pooches have thought of everything. To avoid overcrowding, dogs need to be booked in to swim in advance, there are two pools with different depths for different sized dogs, and those that aren’t strong swimmers can be provided with a buoyancy vest.
If the idea of swimming with dogs seems a bit gross, you’ll be relieved to hear that the dogs are required to be checked for a variety of health issues, including skin issue, mites and other injuries before being allowed to swim. Plus, the water is filtered every day to avoid contamination.
