This week from the doggy news desk: dogs get the Freddie Mercury look, a terrific twosome breaks hearts and a lesson in ancient canine history. Boil the kettle, it’s time for the Scoop!
Rock dog
Evidence uncovered near ancient English site Stonehenge suggests that dogs have been our companions since pre-historic times. This recent archaeological discovery is significant for many reasons, not least because it suggests that the area surrounding Stonehenge has been considered significant by the ancient Brits, even up to 2,000 years before the stone circle was constructed.
Of course, the most interesting part of the discovery is the tooth that experts believe belonged to an Alsatian. Even more interesting is that the dog and his humans seem to have made a 250-mile journey. Perhaps they were trying to find a good dog sitter? (Luckily, we’ve made this much easier in the modern day – simply search for a dog sitter near you using your postcode on DogBuddy.com!)
Friends that get adopted together, stay together
Are you ready for a story that will give you all the feels? Two inseparable rescue pups named Chewbacca and CC bonded while awaiting their forever homes, and they’ve just been adopted by the same family!
The pair built a reputation for inseparability by doing literally everything together. CC likes to sleep on top of Chewy, they love walkies side by side and they even cuddle when they’re in the car. Cuddle buddies, forever!
Dananananana… Shed Defender!
Freddie Mercury impersonations just got a whole lot easier for your pup. An American company called Shed Defender have invented a leotard for dogs. And it’s not so they can also don a cape and be a superhero by defending the lawn mower in your shed. Though that’s something we’d like to see…
Shed Defender is designed to stop pooches from shedding all over your house and the snug leotard also helps keep dogs warm in winter and keeps ticks or insects away.
Would you dress your dog in one of these? Let us know what you think of these leotards in the comments below.
